“Just tell me what to do.” This is what we want to hear at the end of the day, right? “Give me the 3 easy steps and I’ll just do those things.” Well, covenant family, let’s not skip over the heart issues and sprint to creating rules to follow. Before we consider the practical steps in preparing for Lord’s Day Worship (Sunday Worship) let’s spend some time considering the call from God. 

When God created a day of rest and worship (i.e. sabbath) for His people, there was repetition built into our lives and there is an expectation from God. It’s as if the creator of the universe took out his cosmic agenda, turned to the page that showed every week for all the history of the world, and inked in a reoccuring  meeting with His people. Wow, this is amazing! God expects His people to meet with him and He takes this meeting so seriously that He made it a permanent part of His creation order. But what about our calendars? Do we so easily sleep in on a day appointed to meet with the King? There’s much more to be said on this, but let’s leave it here–God expects to meet with His people.
