Preparing for Lord’s Day Worship (Pt. 3)

If we have an appointment with the King of Kings at least 2 things should be true for us. First, we should honor that meeting, and not miss it! We should not be dismissive of the prestige and significance of meeting with God and His beloved people (consider Luke 14:15-24). Second, we should show up ready to meet the King. Ideally, we arrive early to the meeting to prepare ourselves before the interaction, dressed appropriately, with something in our stomach so we are not distracted by hunger; we should arrive with the necessary documents for hearing from the King and recording what we want to remember, etc.
I suggest, as I will write for next week, that our Lord’s Day preparation begins not on Sunday, but on Saturday.
Of course, these are all the ideal preparations for meeting the King and they all rarely converge each week. But, there are ways that we can increase the likelihood of showing up to church the most ready to worship as possible. I suggest, as I will write for next week, that our Lord’s Day preparation begins not on Sunday, but on Saturday. For now, consider how you prepare yourself and your family's hearts, minds, and bodies for meeting the King the next day.
