Preparing for Lord’s Day Worship (Pt. 5)

Implementing the suggestions from last week should create a more relaxed and peaceful home on Sunday morning. The hope is that starting the Lord’s Day in this way will also produce a more relaxed and peaceful mind and heart for worship. Continue to create routines such as: having your Bibles/notebooks ready to go by the door, knowing when you need to leave to arrive early, and listening to the Spotify song playlist on your drive. After you finish Sunday School, I suggest you make your way to the sanctuary to receive your paper liturgy and find your seat to continue to prepare.
We naturally use this time for fellowship, and please do that, but also give yourself time to read thoughtfully through the liturgy! By simply saying, “Let’s finish catching up after service, I need to go prepare my heart,” you will bless both you and your friend. Then read through the liturgy and think about what we are about to read, pray, and corporately confess that morning. Knowing and believing what you confess will lead you to deeper worship - try it out!
